Dr. Alexis Ivanecky

Large Animal Veterinarian

Dr. Ivanecky was born and raised here in Tucson, Arizona and attended the University of Arizona where she received her Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Science. She went on to complete veterinary school at Ohio State University.
Missing Tucson and the desert, Dr. Ivanecky returned to Tucson to start her career with Adobe Vet Center. Dr. Ivanecky grew up predominantly riding paints and quarter horses, showing mostly hunter jumpers. In her free time, she enjoys active outdoor hobbies including hiking, camping, horse-back riding, and off-roading. She also enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, friends, and family, including her cat Cleo and her Australian shepherds, Lyla and Shelby. Her professional interests include equine lameness, sports medicine, cardiology, ophthalmology, and preventative care.

Dr. Ashley Edge

Large Animal Veterinarian

Dr. Edge grew up in an Air Force family and so was blessed to move all over the USA. She loved horses from an early age and joined 4-H and rode and showed through them, as well as with the AQHA. She ended up owning a quarter horse mare that was an integral part of Dr. Edge’s life and taught her that she wanted to become a veterinarian.
Dr. Edge continued her life of travel after she left home. She did her undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University and completed her veterinary degree at St. George’s University on the island of Grenada in the West Indies. Dr. Edge did an internship after graduation at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky and then took her first associate job in Denver, Colorado. During this time, she became certified in Animal Chiropractic care at Options for Animals College of Animal Chiropractic. While practicing in Denver, she met her husband, Dan, and his career moved them to Virginia, and finally back West to Tucson.
Professionally, Dr. Edge particularly enjoys ophthalmology, equine lameness, chiropractic care, and imaging. Dr. Edge also has a special interest in client and community education for the care of all animals.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Edge enjoys hiking, camping, and horseback riding. She also loves spending time with her family, including her two cats Julep and Yeti (Yeti has extra toes and therefore big feet, hence the name!).

Dr. Barbara Page

Retired Founding Partner

Dr. Barbara Page was born in Michigan, but moved to Tucson in 1954. She graduated from the University of Arizona College of Agriculture in 1975, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Health Science, with High Distinction. In 1979, she graduated from Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine, where she was a member of Phi Zeta Veterinary Honorary and in the top 10% of her class.
Within a few years following graduation, she began her own practice, Tortolita Veterinary Services, and is now the founder and corporate owner of Adobe Veterinary Center. She served on the Arizona Veterinary Medical Examining Board from 2005-2010, attending monthly meetings reviewing veterinary cases. She is also the primary veterinarian for mammals at the Arizona Sonoran Desert museum, where she provides medical attention to the variety of native animals who reside in the zoological gardens.
Over the years, Dr. Page has been adopted by several species of animal – French bulldogs, horses (minis to drafts!), goats, llamas, and pot-bellied pigs, just to name a few. In her free time, she enjoys horseback riding, attending a good movie, camping, and water-skiing at the lake with her family.

Dr. Abigail Don

Small Animal Veterinarian

Dr. Abby Don is a native to Tucson. As an undergrad she attended the University of California at Davis and majored in Animal Biology. In order to broaden her experiences, she spent a summer in Belize working with livestock and exotic wildlife. After that experience, Dr. Don decided to study Veterinary Medicine and graduated from Colorado State University. After veterinary school she returned to Tucson and completed an internship at the Veterinary Specialty Center of Tucson before joining us here at Adobe. Her professional interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and end-of-life care.
In Dr. Don’s free time, she enjoys hiking with her Vizsla named Pippa as well as traveling. One of her favorite traveling experiences was a Sound of Music bike tour in Salzburg, Austria. “Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens…,” these are a few of her favorite things!

Dr. Claire Hans

Small Animal Veterinarian

Dr. Claire Hans grew up in the Midwest, raised along with her three brothers, one sister, and various Boxers. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from University of Wisconsin-Madison and gained experience with animals as a veterinary assistant, milking dairy cows, in research, and with wildlife rehabilitation. Dr. Hans graduated from the University of Wisconsin’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 2014.
She moved to Tucson with her husband the summer after graduation and joined Adobe Veterinary Center. They have two daughters, Mabel and Ida.
Dr. Hans loves the warm sunny weather in Tucson which allows for an active lifestyle. She enjoys running competitively and is an active member in the running community including Southern Arizona Roadrunners and The Workout Group.
Dr. Hans’ professional interests include senior pet care, dermatology, behavior, gastrointestinal medicine, and ophthalmology. Her favorite part about working at Adobe Veterinary Center is the immense support she receives with her growing family.

Dr. Elizabeth Dooley

Small Animal Veterinarian

Dr. Elizabeth Dooley was born in New Jersey and raised in Tucson, AZ. She attended the University of Arizona and received her Bachelors of Science in Veterinary Science and Natural Resources. Dr. Dooley attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed her clinical year at Iowa State University. After graduating from Vet School, she spent some time working as an Emergency Veterinarian. Dr. Dooley has a 10-year-old lab named Bela, a quarter horse name Sister and two blinds cats named Finnegan and Ophelia. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, trail riding with her horse, hiking and traveling.
Her professional interests include internal medicine, preventative care, client education and One Health.

Dr. Christine Staten

Large Animal Veterinarian

Dr. Christine Staten is a native of Tucson, and after an earlier career as an OB-GYN technician, attended and graduated from Colorado State University, School of Veterinary Medicine in 1999.

Dr. Staten joined Dr. Page in 1999 as a part of Tortolita Veterinary Services, a large animal ambulatory practice. In 2005, together, they built a new mixed-animal clinic on the east side of Tucson, Adobe Veterinary Center. She mentors and lectures on the business aspects of veterinary medicine to other private practice owners and has a passion for mentoring the next generation of veterinarians.

Dr. Staten is married with 5 children and 3 grandchildren. Although she enjoys all aspects of large animal medicine, she has a particular passion for endocrine disease, dentistry, reproduction, and preventative medicine. She prioritizes owner education, and believes it leads to healthier medicine.

Dr. Lauren Hood (Previously Dr. Hefton)

Large Animal Veterinarian

Dr. Lauren Hood was born in Australia and lived in Irian Jaya, Indonesia; Reno, Nevada; and Santiago, Chile; before moving to Tucson in 2002. She graduated from Ross University of Veterinary Medicine and completed her clinic year at Oklahoma State University. After graduating Dr. Hood completed a 5 month internship with Durango Equine Veterinary Clinic in Buckeye, AZ. In her free time she enjoys hiking and traveling with her husband Rob, riding, and spending time with her cat (Camry) and black Lab (Jake).
Dr. Hood’s special interests include theriogenology, internal medicine, and preventative care.

Dr. Meghan Marner

Large Animal Veterinarian

Dr. Meghan Marner is a Tucson native and was raised in the Tanque Verde Valley. She was an animal lover from a young age and spent most of her childhood on horseback. Working with horses and mules at her local stable solidified her passion for animal health and inspired her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. She attended the University of Arizona and received her Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Science. Dr. Marner went on to receive her doctorate from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with Honors in May 2022. Excited to be a desert-dweller once again and join an incredible team, Dr. Marner returned home to start her career with Adobe Vet Center. She enjoys all aspects of equine and large animal medicine but has particular interest in emergency medicine, preventative care, and client education. In her free time, Dr. Marner enjoys trail riding, spending time with her family and friends, and traveling around beautiful Arizona with her husband and their dogs.

Dr. Renee Pageau-Vega

Small Animal Veterinarian

Dr. Vega was born and raised in Tucson, AZ. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of Arizona. She attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and spent her clinical year with Lincoln Memorial University.
In Dr. Vega’s free time, she enjoys hiking, camping, and gardening with her husband and two children. She has a border collie mix rescue named Shea she adopted during her second to last clinical rotation with LMU.
Her professional interests include One Health, zoonotic diseases, research, and preventative medicine.

Dr. Francesca La Piana

Small Animal Veterinarian

Dr. Francesca La Piana was born and raised in Ashton, MD. She moved to the southwest to obtain her bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona, majoring in Veterinary Science. She worked as a Certified Veterinary Technician at Adobe for three years prior to returning to the UofA to be a part of the College of Veterinary Medicine’s inaugural class. Now she couldn’t be happier to be returning to Adobe as a DVM!

 

In her spare time, Dr. La Piana enjoys cooking, gardening, and recently learned how to crochet. She has a Heeler mix named Pixie and hopes to get her a fur-sibling soon.

 

Her professional interests include dermatology, preventative medicine, and client education.

Dr. Megan Brown

Large Animal Veterinarian

Dr. Megan Brown was born and raised in central Michigan where her love for animals began at a young age. She attended Spring Arbor University where she also ran cross country and track before graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2020. After being accepted into the University of Arizona’s College of Veterinary Medicine’s inaugural class, she packed up and moved across the country to Tucson in August 2020. Dr. Brown completed her clinical year of vet school at various clinics across the country one of which was Adobe Veterinary Center. After spending a month as a student extern, she found the team and environment she had been seeking in a clinic. Dr. Brown was excited to join Adobe to begin her career after graduating in 2023.
Her professional interests include emergency medicine, dentistry, and preventative care.
In her free time, Dr. Brown enjoys exploring Arizona, spending time with friends and family, and reading while snuggling with her cat Wren.
