Join our team providing exceptional care for equine and livestock patients. Large Animal Veterinary Technicians work alongside veterinarians in both field and hospital settings, supporting patient care, diagnostics, treatments, and ambulatory veterinary services.
Responsibilities
- Assist with exams, treatments, diagnostics, and procedures
- Safely handle and restrain horses and livestock
- Jog horses for lameness evaluations
- Collect laboratory samples and assist with diagnostic testing
- Support veterinarians during farm calls and in-hospital procedures
- Maintain medical records and treatment documentation
- Prepare and maintain vehicles, equipment, and supplies
- Communicate professionally with clients and team members
- Work independently while managing responsibilities efficiently
- Assist in maintaining a safe and organized work environment
Qualifications
- Experience handling horses and livestock required
- Previous veterinary experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible schedule, including weekend shifts
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to jog horses and perform physical tasks throughout the day
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
